Plast-Box, a leading manufacturer of plastic packaging, has become the owner of the Projekt Warszawa volleyball club. Previously involved in this venture was Grzegorz Pawlak, President of the Board of Plast-Box S.A., who is also President of the capital’s team.
A club with traditions
Projekt Warszawa is a men’s volleyball club playing in PlusLiga, the highest level of the competition. The upcoming season will be the nineteenth in a row in which the volleyball players will play in the elite. The team was established in 1954 as the volleyball section of the Warsaw University of Technology. Since 2005, it has operated as an independent club and commercial company. The acquisition of the team by Plast-Box is a new chapter in the history of the Projekt.
– I hope for more than one trophy – I deeply believe in the strength of this team, – says Grzegorz Pawlak, President of the Management Board of Plast-Box S.A. – We also want the prestigious Champions League competition to return to the volleyball map of Warsaw, which will undoubtedly increase brand recognition not only among Polish fans, but also those interested in the sport throughout Europe and encourage investors to support the club, he adds.
We play as one team
Plast-Box’s presence in the world of sport is not accidental. It is an expression of healthy market competition, corporate social responsibility and building good relations with partners, customers and also… volleyball fans. The company’s mission is to invest in people and their capabilities – and the effect of these goals is the just-started process of managing the volleyball club.
– As the owner of Projekt Warszawa, we feel responsible for its dynamic development. When we invest in the club, we think not only about commerciality, but first and foremost about the excitement we will provide for the fans, now and in future seasons. This is our goal and mission – to be closer to the people. While operating in a business and sports environment, we also create lasting ties with the market environment of Plast Box Group, effectively coordinating with other investors. This is a game that requires a great strategy and committed, reliable partners, says Grzegorz Pawlak. – We want to open up new opportunities for the club and its community by implementing modern models of sports management, he adds.
Together for success
With the business partners of the Projekt Warszawa, Plast-Box plans to take the team to an even higher level. It will carry out activities to promote the club and volleyball, both locally and on a larger scale. The club’s owner wants to attract as many fans as possible to COS Torwar and Arena Ursynów, who will support the team with their loud cheering at every match, and encourage young enthusiasts of the sport to train in the club’s recently established international academy. Plast-Box is also keen to give an opportunity to other new sponsors, for whom investment in the sport is a chance to give their brands better exposure. In addition to strengthening the team on a regular basis, the priority for the company, as the club’s owner, is to implement effective business solutions that will allow the company to grow dynamically, but also quickly bring real benefits to the other partners of the Projekt Warszawa.
Plast Box Group is very happy to invite everyone to actively support and cheer on the volleyball players of the Projekt Warszawa in the PlusLiga and the Polish Cup. Let’s cultivate the club’s long-standing tradition together and help our volleyball players achieve the best results! We are united not only by business relations, but also by common ideas which guide us in life and everyday work.
