In the spirit of the approaching holidays, when we think of our loved ones, the Management Board of Plast Box Group has made an extraordinary decision. Instead of traditional Christmas presents for business partners, we donated money to the Divine Mercy Hospice in Słupsk.
‘We decided that the most beautiful gift we can give is to support those who need it most,’ says Artur R. Skonieczny, Management Board Member and Sales Director of Plast Box Group. ‘We know how important closeness and togetherness are in the most difficult moments. We want to help, at least in a small way, those who are saying goodbye to their loved ones and those who care for them each day.’
Plast-Box’s decision was met with immense gratitude from the hospice management.
‘For us, your support is like another star in the sky that brightens up our demanding everyday life,’ says Teresa Jerzyk, Director of the Divine Mercy Hospice in Słupsk. ‘The money is sure to help with the ongoing extension of the new wing of the building.’
Specific Help Needed
The story does not end this year. The everyday functioning of the hospice requires ongoing support. The director specifies that the most pressing needs are several wooden beds and cupboards, three TV sets, equipment for the psychologist’s office, a small fridge, and a safe for medicines. Another priority is air conditioning, which is going to significantly improve living conditions during difficult moments.
Helping the hospice is not only about donating money, but also about personal commitment.
Volunteering by Plast-Box employees has an important role to play in these activities. Employees of the company regularly contribute not only financially, but also through their personal involvement in the daily activities of the hospice. This support shows how important it is to be present and ready to act when help is needed most.
Anyone who feels the need to help can contribute. It should be remembered that quiet solidarity, even a small donation, can become another star in the sky – for all those who need at least a little light in the darkness of pain and loss.
